4th of July 2010

We started off the 4th of July this year bright and early. Ben, my dad, and my sis-in-law Kristen ran the Blacksmith Fork 15k Freedom Run. You run down blacksmith fork canyon and the race ends in Hyrum. Ben has recently taken up running and this was his first official race since maybe 3rd grade. He finished in fine fashion with a time of 1:19. My dad ran a 1:03 and Kristen a 1:22. They all did so awesome! The girls and I were so proud of Ben. I just wish I could've ran it too!
Then we headed to Kaysville for the parade. It's tradition, but I wonder why we do this every year.....

My beauties

Yeah, this was my view of the parade this year. So much for our curbside seats. Everyone was seriously more than 1/2 way in the street. Kind of frustrating. Again, why do we do this?

Then we headed to Papa's pool for a little relaxation. Every year we get pizza and treats and hang by the pool for the afternoon and let everyone swim. It's always a good time.
